Radiological Technology (undergraduate studies, 4 years)

 

RADIOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY study program has the mission to train highly qualified and competitive specialists for both national and international health systems by organizing modern medical education and supporting scientific research in accordance with the new requirements and achievements in the professional field.

The study program objectives will be achieved through the development of skills and abilities that are essential for ensuring the radiology services coverage and the fulfillment of tasks in medical diagnosis and treatment technologies area, by:

  • preparing and carrying out high-performance radiological and imaging examinations;
  • post-processing of carried out investigations, with the help of a wide range of sophisticated X-ray equipment and techniques;
  • promoting and using modern technologies;
  • conducting scientific research in Radiological Technology specialty;
  • organizing and providing pedagogical activities.

Radiological Technology graduates are the experts who:

assume responsibility for the physical and psychosocial well-being of patients before, during and after examinations;

play an active role in justifying and optimizing radiodiagnostic investigations and radiotherapy procedures;

represent the key people as regards radiation safety of patients and third parties, in accordance with "as reasonable as possible" (ALARA) principle and the legislation in force.

The title obtained after completing Radiological Technology specialty program allows the bachelor's degree holder to participate in Master's and then PhD contest, as well as to engage in gainful employment according to the National Qualifications Framework and Occupational Classification of the Republic of Moldova. The graduates of 0914.2 Radiological Technology program are Radiologic Technologists who may work independently or be part of a professional team within public and private healthcare institutions of primary, secondary and tertiary level.
